UQ Policy Pitch Competition 2021

Adept Economics recognises the importance of supporting the next generation of public policy professionals and is proud to sponsor the UQES & PPES Adept Economics Policy Pitch Competition for the second year running.

Following a successful premier event in 2020 (see the 2020 winners’ responses here), the Adept Economics team is looking forward to reviewing how students will respond to this year’s task: Propose a public policy that could be implemented by the Queensland Government aimed at accelerating the decarbonisation of the Queensland economy.

Students will be given one week to prepare their responses before finalists are selected to present in front of an esteemed judging panel. Confirmed panellists include:

  • Gene Tunny, Adept Economics Director
  • Alastair Stark, UQ School of Political Science
  • John Quiggin, UQ School of Economics

First and second place, decided on Wednesday 18 August at the Final Pitch, will be awarded $400 and $100, respectively.

We wish all participants the best of luck.
