Government Budget Analysis Training Day on 22 November at the Johnson, Spring Hill, Brisbane

Adept Economics Director Gene Tunny and his colleague Joe Branigan will be holding a training day on government budget analysis on Friday 22 November at the Johnson Hotel, Spring Hill, Brisbane.

It is important for us all to understand Government budgets. Since the GFC, Australia’s growing public debt has raised concerns about the sustainability of our nation’s future economic prosperity. Metrics such as net operating balance, fiscal balance, and net debt have been thrown around by the media to scold the spending habits of both Federal and State governments.

But what does all this really mean?

Join Gene and Joe, both recognised leading experts on government budgets, to find out.

  • Gene Tunny, a former manager in the Australian Treasury’s Budget Policy Division, author of Beautiful One Day, Broke the Next: Queensland’s Public Finances since Sir Joh and Sir Leo, and a regular commentator on national and state budget issues in national media; and
  • Joe Branigan, a former Australian Treasury and Productivity Commission official, former Senior Economic Advisor to the US Ambassador to Australia, and a regular commentator on national and state budget issues in national media.

Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided. For more information, and to purchase tickets, please head to the Eventbrite link here. Early Bird prices apply to the first 30 tickets (up to 7 November).

Please get in touch to gene.tunny@adepteconomics.com.au or call 1300 169 870. if you have any questions.
